MSCNWR - 7-26-22 - 7-30-22

We spent Monday night in Crossroads, got the mowing done, then made it back to Camp Crane Tuesday afternoon.  We enjoyed a leisurely stroll around the Dees Trail Wednesday morning.

Wednesday afternoon, we took a ride to Fontainebleau Trail.  We saw 4 cranes chillin under shade trees along the way.  We took the short cut back through Browns Trail.  We flushed 10 Cranes when we got to the East Valentine Savanna.  It is so good to be back amongst the Crane Circus.

Wednesday Pics:

We worked in the visitor center on Thursday.  The Red-headed Woodpecker was not happy with our deer buster apparatus on the HQ corn feeder.  After trying to peck through the metal, he gave up and left. We had a slow day of visitation on this rainy day.

Thursday Pics:

Friday we worked in the visitor center.  The Red-headed Woodpeckers have figured out how to get corn out of the HQ feeder.  It didn't take them long.

Lauren got a lot of pretty pics of bugs, butterflies, and blooms around the visitor center.

Friday Pics:

Saturday we spent the morning packing up getting ready for our departure tomorrow.  The afternoon was spent doing what we love, riding around in the refuge.  We had a 21 Crane Salute for our going away party.
