9-8-19 - (Day 46- Lovell, Wyoming)

We would have liked to stayed at Buffalo Bill State Park North Shore Campground a few more days and go back in Yellowstone National Park.  But Yellowstone had weather predictions of rain, ice, and snow.  It was a no brainer.  We got out of there.

We checked out a free camp spot in Powell, Wyoming.  A nice overnight-er, but it was before noon and we wasn't ready to stop for the day.

A few miles down the road, we checked out another free spot at Lovell, Wyoming.  It has beautiful cottonwood trees, restrooms, hot showers, a dump/water fill station, and it is free!

Lauren did a great job maneuvering Rap on the end spot between the trees.  We had to back up to open our door.  There is only a few inches between the ladder and the tree.  Kinda tight parking between the railroad ties, but plenty of room to walk outside between our site and the next site.

We ate lunch, unloaded Amber and went for a ride through Big Horn Canyon National Recreational Area.  We saw 3 Wild Horses, a deer, 4 Big Horn Sheep, (2 Ewes and 2 lambs), and plenty of gorgeous scenery.

We rode as far as we could until the pavement turned to gravel and turned around at Trail Ridge Campground.  This looks like an awesome place to stay for $15 a night.  It has no hookups, no cell phone service, beautiful views, and very quiet.

There were very few tourist here.  We may have found a hidden gem!

We came back and grilled burgers.  Lauren found an Eurasian Collared Dove nest in a nearby tree.  Momma Dove just happened to fly in the tree.  The nest had 2 babies standing in the nest flapping their wings.  Beautiful!
