Sunday we made another walk in G02 savanna at the North Gautier Unit in the hopes of photographing cranes and finding Calopogon multiflorus. Dang Cranes would not cooperate and flushed long before we could take their pictures.
On our way in, we found a very photogenic Red-tailed Hawk.
We did not find any Calopogon multiflorus, but did find a new location for the Snowy Orchids! Cha Ching!
During our 1 1/2 hot walk, we saw lots of pretty critters and blooms.
While we were riding around cooling off in the truck, we saw a few cranes including the Rock Hill family. HQ1 has joined the family and is doing a great job helping Connect, the recent widow, raise her twins.
When we returned to Camp Crane, Sami had moved the laundry shed to an open campsite.
This afternoon we watched Sami repair the Valentine Road Dam beaver damage. That Lady is good!
Monday, we got ole Billy Goat out and blew off debris along Crane Lane. We cleaned up the bio boat and relocated it to Camp Crane.
Tuesday morning some of the HQ Gang were hanging around the feeder.
We spent the morning looking for Calopogon Multiflorus at the HQ savanna. We didn't find any, but we did find a few Pale Grass Pinks.
Tuesday afternoon, we got packed up and met Anita at Island View and had another great time of gambling, drinking, and laughter. Tomorrow we head north to Wisconsin!!
