Last week when we visited the Refuge, we had a detailed tour/orientation with Carol. We left the Refuge pretty much brain dead. As Melissa said, "Carol is an overachiever."
Today we worked with Carol and Charley.
All the information Carol gave us last week, became a lot clearer today. Our first sale in the bookstore was a success, (with the a little help from Carol). The duties aren't that hard, we just have a learning curve of the flow of things.
Today is Saturday, the day Clem, (the corn snake resident), gets fed. This requires picking up Clem and putting him in a different container to eat. I was a little bit astonished when Carol walked in the book store with him wrapped around her arm. Neither Lauren nor I had any desire to pet him or hold him. Luckily, this is not a job requirement.
We ended the day with a walk and a stop by the bunkhouse for a meet and greet.
